Cool measurement activity, Alex. I can see you are "eight feet" high on this but I'm glad you are not 8 Feet as a measurement, otherwise you would not fit through the classroom door! |
Welcome to Room 10's blog for 2020. We are an energetic Year 1 class and our teacher is Mrs Smaill. We are looking forward to working together and learning lots of exciting and new things this year! Check our blog regularly to see what we have been up to. We would love to read your comments.

You are a tall boy Alex, maybe when you are all grown up you might reach 8 feet...do you think?
ReplyDeleteFrom Mrs Burge
Alex, 8 feet, that sounds very tall! Whose feet did you draw round? I wonder how many feet tall you would be if you drew round an adult’s foot?
ReplyDeleteImagine being 8 feet Alex! Wow, you would be able to touch the stars. I just saw on room 8's blog Aiden had measured himself in hands, maybe you could try that and see what the difference is?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun measuring activity Alex! Maybe you could see how many 'hands' you are next.
ReplyDeleteDid you know Alex that before we had rulers and measuring tapes horses used to be measured in 'hands'. People would stack open hands one on top of the other and count the number of hands it took to get to the to of the shoulders! I wonder how many hands tall you would be?
ReplyDeleteHaha this is a cool photo Alex. Yes if you were really 8 feet tall you would be almost 3 feet taller than Mrs Edmonds!
ReplyDeleteYou look really tall lying down Alex. have you grown a lot while in Lockdown?
