Dreaming of Clouds

 

Cloud watching is one of my favourite activities.

The sky is amazing - always changing and I sometimes

think that if you painted the clouds as they look people

may not believe you because they can be so different, 

all at the same time!

Why not check out the Science slide (7) and click

on the link to see how Clouds are formed.

Then do some Cloud Gazing.

This will be good for Mindfulness too.

The rain is back again, but we

have a water shortage for Auckland city,

so we can be grateful that our dams are

getting filled up.

It is an awesome day to stay inside doing 

some fun activities like-

Making a hut

Watching your favourite movie

Reading books

Exercises indoors

Mindfulness

Singing

Baking

Daffodil Day is this Friday 28th August.

It was awesome catching up with most of you yesterday on  the 

Google Meet. You all looked so happy sharing your learning and

asking fantastic questions. I was very proud of how you

all listened carefully to each other, waited turns and used your microphones.

You are like professionals - using Google Meets now.

Well done - using your GEMS self-belief and growth.

How about visiting Slide 9, activity 2 sbout writing a Recipe.

I know most of you enjoy eating food and this is a fun activity

where you can make some food and record the recipe with pictures and words.

Today, you might like to practice some of your counting.

Forwards and backwards to 20, 50 and I know some of you can go to 100!

Maybe challenge yourself to go beyond 100!

How many PAIRS of things can you find in your house?

Pairs come in 2s, twos. 

So why not practice counting forward and backwards in twos too.

Communicating through Semaphore Signals

 

Check out Slide 12 today about using

Flag Semaphore Signals to send messages.

Maybe write a message with the online Semaphore

Converter - it is a lot of fun!

And for Technology you could make two semaphore

flags of your own to use.

Room 10 Movie Stars

"We are trying to be the best class in the whole school", says Edward. We have learnt about Living in our Bubbles, Geometry and read some interesting Shared Books. 
We have a special gift to give to you to say Thank You for all your support with our Home Distance Learning. We have a poem to share and our stories in the Publishing book.
Please help me to remember to return all the books on Tuesday because Monday we have a holiday from the Queen because she said Room 10 at Sunnyhills School rocks!

Ratu - Tuesday - Hair Day

It has been lovely catching up with everyone on Google Meets and getting to see your smiley faces.
I think everyone is out of the Learning Pit with learning how to switch their microphones on and off for talking time and listening time. This makes it easier to hear the speaker, as the microphones pick up all the other background sounds and voices.

I will email the link to your parents at 9:55am for the 10:00am meeting and !:55pm for the 2:00pm meeting. Please wait until 10:00am and 2:00pm before you join.
