Lockdown Level 3

After our first Lockdown, Room 10 made a PMI chart that recorded all the students ideas.

So ... after Lockdown Level 3 each child recorded their own ideas.

A PMI chart is -  Plus - positive aspects

                             Minus - negative aspects

Interesting - different or interesting things that occurred

Agent Tobias !

I'm glad you had so much fun using the Morse Code.
I had planned for us to do some of this back at school.
You will be an expert!

Dreaming of Clouds

Cloud watching is one of my favourite activities.
The sky is amazing - always changing and I sometimes
think that if you painted the clouds as they look people
may not believe you because they can be so different,
all at the same time!

Why not check out the Science slide (7) and click
on the link to see how Clouds are formed.
Then do some Cloud Gazing.
This will be good for Mindfulness too.

Have fun and see you tomorrow at the
Friday Google Meet at 11:00

Making a hut
Watching your favourite movie
Reading books
Exercises indoors
Mindfulness

Gracie and Luca out and about!

Cute photo of you and Luca scootering. Yes, it has been very windy and stormy lately.

I'm glad that you could have a sleepover at your Grandparents house. That must have

been lots of fun.

Fun Friday 21st August

Have you been practising your Handwriting lately?
How about visiting Slide 9, activity 2 sbout writing a Recipe.
I know most of you enjoy eating food and this is a fun activity
where you can make some food and record the recipe with pictures and words.
Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend with your whanau.

Pirate Toby!!

Wow! I see Pirates Toby and Eleanor have been very busy with their home learning.

I like how you have completed a variety of learning like the Maths, Art, Drama, Technology and

Written Language. Did you show Grandma how to use the robot arms to spell out the words?

Rapare, Thursday 20th August - Teacher Video

Today, you might like to practice some of your counting.
Forwards and backwards to 20, 50 and I know some of you can go to 100!
Maybe challenge yourself to go beyond 100!

How many PAIRS of things can you find in your house?
Pairs come in 2s, twos.
So why not practice counting forward and backwards in twos too.

Edward's Distance at Home Learning

I can see some Healthy Foods
and it looks like you are doing the
Floating and Sinking experiment.
Great to see your learning at home, Edward.

Edward's Activities

This is a great self-portrait!
I was thinkng it looked like you have had a haircut.

This looks like a Shape Hunt picture.

Blake's Fantastic Learning

Your story writing Blake has improved greatly.
I can read it very clearly.
What I miss most about school is seeing my lovely smiling student faces.
It's a very cute picture with the sunshine and the rainbow.

Lucas and Max , the budding scientists

Lucas watched the video about the planet on YouTube yesterday, then drew a picture of the planet he remembered, and gave us an explanation.

From left to right in the picture are the moon, the earth and the sun, and there are stars around the earth. I like his colour scheme.

Today he and his brother Max did a small scientific experiment, put the ice cubes in hot and cold water, and observed which container of ice melted faster.

They found that the ice cubes put into the hot water melted faster, and expressed the findings in pictures and words. What a happy learning experience.

Thank you Stella for your informative explanations and wonderful photos. I really enjoyed seeing the photos of the science experiment with Ice that I suggested this morning on my daily chat. You are doing a fantastic job with your distance learning from home. Keep it up! Kai pai!
