Land Ahoy !!!

.

This is a very cool pirate ship, complete with bow sprit
and flag pole with the flag, of course. I can even see
you and Ella on board the pirate ship. I bet you had
lots of fun building this, as I know Lego is one of
your favourite activities.

Very cute photo, Dino.
I can see lots of delicious Healthy Foods.
I like eating seeds and avocado too.
What foods will you eat from these?

I like how you have written the list of foods and numbered them.
I can see that your Handwriting has improved a lot.
Keep up the great work!

Lydia, Orlando's Home Learning

A very cool vegetable person.
Great results with your Melting Ice experiment, Lydia.

Wow, you have been very busy researching about Planets in our Universe. I can see which planets they are, just by looking at your drawings.
Thank you for trying my

Little Chef - Lucas

I like your idea of putting 'super cheese' on top of your Hawaiian pizza and I agree it makes it delicious. You are a super GEM practising Empathy by being kind and making pizza lunch for your family. Your T-Rex lego skeleton looks awesome. It looks like you have followed the instructions very carefully. Did you learn a lot about T-Rex dinosaurs by watching the Youtube video?

Tejaswini's Week of Home Learning

These are ten colourul healthy foods.
And CHEESE is my favourite food too!

I think you have done a fabulous job planting your apple seed.
Here's hoping a shoot grows soon.

Looks like lots of fun!
I know lots of children have recently tried this science experiment.

Edward's Melting Ice Experiment

It looks like you are very orgainised for the 'Melting Ice' experiment.
I look forward to hearing about your results when we get back to school.

Laela's Activities

I love the colour of your Police car.
Yes, Police work very hard in our communities and they are very important.

This is a great selection of your favourite movies.
I think Frozen 1 and 2, have been a big success and are favourites with lots of children.

Orlando's Shape Hunt

Great job, Orlando finding all the shapes around your house.
I love how you have included the labels for teaching others.

Fort Building - Toby

Hi Toby and Eleanor,
This looks like an awesome fort.
I love your idea that you are going to sleep in it
on Saturday night because you will be like one
of the ANZACS. A lot of soldiers slept in tents,
shelters and little forts. I'm glad you have your
big teddy to keep you company.

ANZAC DAY

Here is a simple and effective idea
for ANZAC Day on Saturday.
I was thinking that if you don't have red paint at
home you could use some red food colouring diluted to
paint the red poppies. Make sure you do this carefully as
food colouring is messy and can stain.

Edward's Distance at Home Learning

I can see some Healthy Foods
and it looks like you are doing the
Floating and Sinking experiment.
Great to see your learning at home, Edward.

Edward's Activities

This is a great self-portrait!
I was thinkng it looked like you have had a haircut.

This looks like a Shape Hunt picture.

Blake's Fantastic Learning

Your story writing Blake has improved greatly.
I can read it very clearly.
What I miss most about school is seeing my lovely smiling student faces.
It's a very cute picture with the sunshine and the rainbow.

Rapare - Thursday message from Mrs Smaill

Lucas and Max , the budding scientists

Lucas watched the video about the planet on YouTube yesterday, then drew a picture of the planet he remembered, and gave us an explanation.

From left to right in the picture are the moon, the earth and the sun, and there are stars around the earth. I like his colour scheme.

Today he and his brother Max did a small scientific experiment, put the ice cubes in hot and cold water, and observed which container of ice melted faster.

They found that the ice cubes put into the hot water melted faster, and expressed the findings in pictures and words. What a happy learning experience.

Thank you Stella for your informative explanations and wonderful photos. I really enjoyed seeing the photos of the science experiment with Ice that I suggested this morning on my daily chat. You are doing a fantastic job with your distance learning from home. Keep it up! Kai pai!

Alexander and Vincent are great builders!

Here are some awesome examples of Technology.
Below Alexander and Vincent have created an amazing
fort inside their house.

Facts about Uranus by Dino

Great Inquiry learning, Dino.
I love your wonderful poster about
Uranus. Thank you to your brother for helping. This is practising our Sunnyhills GEM - Empathy. Good temwork, boys.

Facts about Saturn by Ruby

Awesome poster about Saturn. You have drawn a beautiful diagram of Saturn with its rings and included some facts. This is a very good example of what I will be talking about later in the week.
Thank you - sorry I can't turn the photo around.

Clever Lucas

You are very clever Lucas using Lego
to make Iron Man.

What a cute picture and story of you, Dad
and Max playing soccer.
I bet you had fun and used up some
of that energy.
